America Wins

I think it's fair to say that America went a little bit crazy after 9/11.

I think it's fair to say that the Republican Party encouraged it.

Over and over again, we were told that the terrorists wanted us to question our leaders. That voting against Reeps and their bad policies would encourage the terrorists.

In fact, it seems the President and his allies have focused on what the terrorists want to the exclusion of what America wants. Apparently, they thought swagger and threats would be enough to cow a majority of Americans into keeping them in power.

Yesterday, we saw the fruits of basing your entire philosophy of governance on what terrorists want. Because it seems that Americans, being what we are, don't give a flying fuck what the terrorists want. And that includes the terrorists who tell us we'll get nuked if we kick some corrupt Reep windbags out of office.

That's right. America has demonstrated that we refuse to bow to fear and threats. We have given the big finger to the fearmongers, not to mention a thick stack of pink slips.

We win. We all win.

Yesterday, Dems were elected in places that just don't elect Dems. Dems didn't deserve to win those seats, and they sure didn't win them on their own.

If you haven't been paying attention, that's how bad it was getting under single-party Reep control. Reep voters deserted their party in droves, either voting for the other guy or not voting at all.
A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.

America is not going to let terrorists tell us what to do. Or who to vote for.

America chose yesterday to send an arrogant and corrupt leadership packing, not because we think it's what the terrorists want, but because it's what America wants.

Those who would prefer to let terrorists set the agenda have been rebuked.
